Stephany Buswell published her first book in 2022, her memoir called Tasting Life Twice. After retiring as a baker and pastry arts instructor her second book is called Cake Confidential. It is about 50 years of crazy cake stories and she is currently looking for a publisher. She has been part of Clifford Henderson 's writing group for over ten years. Telling stories is a love.

I have always wanted to express my stories in words on paper. I finally got the courage to do so.

Bio

Alicia Keen took her first poetry class at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, CA in the early 70s; Robert Stroud, the teacher   burned incense, played Ravi Shankar and suggested the class write 'stream of consciousness' – she loved it yet wrote sporadically. Since then, she has written some, not a lot, more so in recent years. Poetry complements her lifelong love of painting and music, allowing a cross pollination of ideas for learning.  email

Bio

Tom Pickett was born in San Francisco. His working career was exclusively tied to food service, including attendance at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and the 30 year ownership of a restaurant called The Kilauea Bakery on the North Shore of Kauai, Hawaii. After 40 years in Hawaii he recently returned to Santa Cruz with his wife, Katie, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Now, with more time to wander he is happily pursuing other, long delayed, creative directions including writing and sculpture.

As a participant in the Garfield Park library over 55 writers group and in the spirit of trying new things I am accepting a recent invitation to read a poem or two at Satori arts. After all, like Benjamin Franklin once said, "When you're finished changing you're finished."
