BIO
Garland began his poetry career in 1990 in Los Angeles, where he worked in film production, and moonlighted as a poet, spoken word performer, and producer. In 1998, he competed in the National Poetry Slam and placed in the top 20 out of 200 poets. He toured the U.S., and the United Kingdom including Scotland with poet Miguel Algarin, founder of the famous Nuyorican Poets Café in NYC. Garland has been a featured poet at the Austin International Poetry Festival, Lollapalooza Concert Series, and Howl Fest in NYC. Garland lives in Oakland, CA.
Eike for short…enjoyed a twofold career as a ballet dancer and as an international electronics industry consultant (he became an US citizen since 1996). He studied fine art and industrial design at the Akademie in Berlin and the Royal College of Art in London…receiving his Masters. After the events of 911…he began to write and perform about what he saw. Ike lives since 1988 in Santa Cruz CA and is married to his lovely Sheila…an extraordinary painter. We have published 15 books so far.
Sheila studied at the Art Institute of Chicago as well with a former set designer of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. It is her feelings as an artist-citizen which compelled her to paint numerous works, to document politicians, personalities, friends, and family. “My subjects face the viewer and make eye contact, thus establishing an even greater human relationship”.
